Boss: (in a panic) “OH MY GOD, My laptop’s broken! The screen’s all blank! I keep pressing buttons and nothing happens! It...it’s dead! I need help... HELP!!!”

Enter systems monkey. A few minutes are spent trying to resuscitate the laptop.

Systems Monkey: “Yep, it’s definitely dead. We’ll have to send it off to be rebuilt. I’ll just call a courier and…”

D-Man approaches.

D-Man: “Hey, I’m no computer expert, but I think you’ll find that if you take this power cable here..” (picks up power cable) “… and actually plug it into your laptop…” (plugs cable into laptop) “…you’ll find your laptop will go.” (Turns laptop on, it boots up). “Yeah, that’s the funny thing about computers. They don’t work without power, you know: Electricity. Marvelous invention...”

Boss and systems monkey simply stare back, dumbfounded.

D-Man: “Yeah, don’t worry about saying thanks, or anything. The look on your faces is reward enough. My work here is done.”
