God said to Noah, there’s gonna be a floody, floody...

"Caught a bolt of lightning, cursed the day he let it go.”

I’m not cycling at the moment.

It’s spring.

Which means it’s raining.
Hard.

Which means it’s raining hard at home time when everyone is trying to spend as little time as possible getting home.

Which, as anyone who knows their Bible bedtime stories knows that that is one of the first signs of the Apocalypse.

But, as anyone who knows me, knows I welcome the Apocalypse and rate my chances of becoming the leader of a post-Apocalyptic Ewok tribe.

But that is beside my point, which is coincidentally currently sitting right next to my gumboots. Which are now full of water.

Sigh.

Last night there were like a thousand lighting strikes within the space of two hours.

My friend’s mum got struck by lightning. It arched off of a roof and hit her in the head. She was wearing a baseball cap, with one of those metal circle thingees in the top.
Her cellular telephone in her front pocket was fried. She had a headache. But refused to go to A&E. She reckons she’s alright. I truly hope she is. Because if she’s not, well that could totally ruin the fun little exchange of Yo Mama jokes me and my friend have got going at the moment.

But being struck by lightning was nothing compared to what was waiting to greet me when I got home.

My absentee inlaw’s tiny townhouse section was completely flooded. It was over a foot deep. How do I know? My gumboots know.

So I did what anyone would do. I got out my ocean kayak.

Fun.

We are due to move into our new house next weekend. Most of our stuff is in boxes under the house. Under the house got flooded. But fortunately we learned our lesson from the last time we had stuff stored under the house (I lost most of my childhood photos) and stored our stuff high off of the ground.

Gotta go.
Just saw some baby dolphins pass by the front steps.

Dinner time.
