This morning I had this premonition that Little Girl Ginge was going to fall off something and break her arm.

I was completely wrong.

She fell off something (a slide), but landed on her head instead.

So obviously my psychico powers are waning.

There was a lot of blood.

Followed by screaming.

But the screaming was coming from D-Missus, who was freaking out at all the red stuff coming out the back of her baby girl’s head.

But I was cool, because I could sort of tell it wasn’t that bad. Head wounds tend to produce a lot of blood, even when they’re not that bad. I know this from this time I was fighting a Samurai warrior and I wanted to toy with him a little, so I slashed his forehead with my sword … just a little cut … but the blood came gushing, thus blinding him. Good times.

Anyway.

So the good thing about all this was, that I had a good reason to break the speed limit for once, as I raced her to the nearest A&E. Which wasn’t all that near.
I’ll admit I was a little disappointed that a cop didn’t pull me over, so I could then get him to give me a police escort. But maybe next time.

Little Girl Ginge is fine. She’s tough. It produced just a little gash. Fortunately, she has red hair, so it did a good job of disguising all that blood, and saved us from looking like Bad Parents at the A&E.

And the phrase she most commonly uses at the moment is "Ouch, it hurts" even when things don't hurt, so at least she's got genuine reason to use it now.

We just have to monitor her for concussion at the moment, which is annoying, because it means going in and waking her ever half hour for the next four hours. And she’s a bitch to get back to sleep.

Now we just have to keep her and her big sister war-wound-free for the next couple of days, as we have two weddings back-to-back to go to and it will look bad for the photos if they have cracked skulls and/or black eyes.
