We spent Easter camping near Matamata, which was home to the hobbits for those Lord of the Rings movies.
The scenery was serene, which made for some picturesque pictures.
This is from a mountainbike mission. Where I forgot to take my camera. But then I remembered that I had my cellphone. Which has a camera. You can also call people with it. But there was no reception out there below the mountain range. But that’s OK, because I didn’t need to call anyone. But I could take photos.

We then went back the next day with our families and subjected them to the three hour bush/mountain walk/climb up to the waterfalls. Had my SLR this time.

This is funny. This stranger…

Jumps across the river…

Slips off the rock on the other side, lands on his arse. He had a cellphone in his back pocket. Classic.

Brilliant.
We also had some orsum moonrises.

It was a great holiday. We stayed in a cabin for once, which was slightly more expensive, but saved us about four hours in pitching and striking the tent. Also meant we didn’t have to take the trailer away with us.
There was a nervous bit where this 12-year-old autistic kid went missing during a nighttime Easter egg hunt. The whole campground went out looking for him. Everyone was worried, what with the river and the thermal hot pools nearby. But after three hours, he was found at the end of the 13th hole of the local golfcourse, trying to get through a fence into the neighbouring maize field. Why? Why corn, when there were all those Easter eggs?
Anyway.
Just have to crawl through this week at work now and then I’m taking another few days off to go to the beach.
Orsum.
